Excellent. We mainly *use* ROMIO; we didn't write it, so sometimes we
miss these integration issues. I've just commited the removal of this
line from romio/Makefile.in on the 7.0 branch and the trunk.

I don't know either. I'm guessing it's for some really old architecture
that we don't care about / support. But it's gone now.
