Excellent.

Correct. But for MPI programs, you shouldn't need any of these header
files. These are internal header files that are really only used by the
LAM developers and to build LAM itself; they aren't generally necessary
for users.

You could, but I wouldn't advise it -- it just gets more complicated. If
you really need them (i.e., if you plan to start diving into the internals
of LAM/MPI itself), then I'd suggest installing from the .tar.gz -- or,
better yet, get the current subversion head (what will shortly be 7.1).
LAM/MPI 7.x is *significantly* different than 6.5.x.

Another note on this -- the 6.5.x series is officially deprecated and not
really supported. The 7.x series is the most current, bug-free,
feature-full version of LAM/MPI. I would strongly recommend upgrading,
particularly if you're writing

I'm afraid that I don't know what RPM that is. If you really want 6.5.9
RPMs, see http://www.lam-mpi.org/6.5/download.php. Please see the note
about LAM RPM's prior to v7.0 on LAM's web page:

     http://www.lam-mpi.org/download/linux-rpms.php

Again, since you don't have any strict requirements for the 6.5.x series,
I strongly recommend upgrading to the 7.x series.
