Shyh -

I'm not sure why you are having trouble running recon. There are a
number of reasons that failures can occur. Can you send the actual
output of the failed recon?

We've tested with the XL compiler suite on OS X, so I'm surprised you
had trouble compiling with the default options. Can you send the
output from configure or config.log, as well as the output from where
the failure occurred?
