Unlike few MPI implementations which use integer for handlers in both C
and fortran, LAM/MPI uses integer for fortran MPI handlers and pointers in
C. Few MPI applications use the same value for both fortran and C
programs which I suppose is happening with your program.
There are MPI_*c2f and MPI_*f2c translation functions for converting one
to the other. You can try using them.
