Yet you posted to multiple lists anyway :-) (if you also posted to
lam-announce, it was automatically rejected).

I'm replying to both lam and lam-devel to tie up this thread for the web
archives. Please direct further mails on OOMPI topics to the oompi-devel
list (see below).

No, it does not. OOMPI is still a wrapper around MPI, and MPI needs to
know the underlying structure of the message being passed. There was work
at one point to make OOMPI marshall the data in STL containers for sending
and receiving, but I don't think we ever completed it (it was mainly an
interesting thought experiment -- I don't remember/doubt if it resulted in
any usable software).

Yes, oompi-devel is still active (but very low traffic). The most recent
post was about 2 months ago.
