hi,
The scheduler or resource managment system informs rank 0 that the application can expand onto N number of nodes. I am able to write this interaction. I am using a listener thread on rank 0 and when the scheduler informs of the expansion, i am raising a SIGUSR1 from the listener thread and the main thread catches and handles the signal. It then needs to inform other ranks about the expansion and send the number of new nodes along with their names to the other ranks.
When the scheduler has no free nodes this interaction is not necessary.

thank you,
Satya.
