>From where do you get LAM as an rpm? The LAM version, I downloaded
(7.0.2) was in source form and had to be configured, maked, and
installed. If you use an rpm form (i.e. LAM is compiled), you need to
use the same compiler for your own code (gcc and g77, I guess).

That would be /usr/lam/etc/lam-conf.lamd ? That sound as a problem with
the prefix.
