There two reasons this usually happens. First, there is a version
mismatch between the various machines you are trying to lamboot.
Remember that shells are kind of funky in how they setup your path
(which dot files they process), so you might want to run "rsh <node>
which hboot" and make sure you are getting the right one.

The second is that one of the hosts is running a firewall of some sort.
  Red Hat tends to install one by default that blocks random
connections. pfilter, if not configured right, can cause lamboot to
fail as well. Or some sysadmin loaded some iptables rules that cause
problems (not that anyone has ever played that joke on me before...).
