We did actually revise some of the SYSV semaphore and shared memory
configure tests in CVS (both for 7.1 and the upcoming 7.0.3).
After talking among ourselves a bit, we're wondering if you can grab a
nightly tarball and give it a whirl and see if the same tests hang.
It'll be a 7.1 alpha, but the same configure tests will be in 7.0.3.
When we start making 7.0.3 betas, we can double check it on your platform
as well. Or you could grab the "branch-7-0" CVS tag from our anonymous
CVS and try it right now.
