Thanks Brian,

I had tried lamd a few times with this error repeatedly, I gave it some time
and tried again, it started up no problems later.

Bind is complaining that the unix domain socket was already in use.
Was there a lamd already running on the machine? Or is /tmp not
writable by your user?
