Steven and I conversed more about this off list, and it turned out that
there was, indeed, still a bug left in the
open-a-unix-socket-with-a-really-huge-filename code. It has since been
fixed (both in the 7.0 CVS branch and the head). 7.0.1b10 (available on
the beta page) fixes this issue.
