There is no timeout in MPI_Barrier - once a single process enters the
barrier, it will block until all processes in the given communicator
enter the barrier. There may be (very long) timeouts in the underlying
infrastructure - if you blocked for 3 or 4 days, it would be possible
that the OS killed your TCP connection, but this shouldn't really ever
happen. Other than that, there are no timeouts.
