Hmm -- that should not happen. From the output of your config.LOG, it
shows that it created the share/mpi/Makefile, but no other details are
provided.
Is the makefile.am or Makefile.in in share/mpi of size 0?
In a worst-case scenario, you might want to just delete the whole tree and
extract a fresh LAM/MPI 7.0 tarball (e.g., if some Makefile.* files
somehow got corrupted).
