I am running LAM on my laptop since a while:
it works very well for debugging and testing
alone (cluster with only one machine, i.e., the laptop)
or within a cluster of several PC.
Otherwise,
I use the default options: I guess this is not very important as
the laptop is just used for debugging and testing.
