thanks for your prompt reply. It's no easy to have "my" cluster connected
to the Internet. Not easy buf still feasible but there might be an easier
solution. Easier for me at least. If you tell me where you are located, I
can look for the closest IBM office in which you could walk in to connect
to my cluster using the IBM intranet. I could find a nice person in IBM
(there are many ;-)) to assist you. I am not sure this is acceptable for
you though.

When the gm RPI module for LAM was developed, GM 2.x was not stable.
According to www.myri.com, it still isn't.
There is at least one API change that was made in GM 2.x that breaks
compatability with codes that use the GM 1.x API (see
http://www.myri.com/fom-serve/cache/256.html). As such, LAM/MPI's current
gm code does not support GM 2.x. We anticipate supporting it when the 2.x
series becomes stable enough for us to install it on our clusters. :-)
