afaik, this is why a lamboot is not possible.

you mailed before that you can do a rsh between all
compute nodes without using a password.
above output seems to contradict ?

You can proceed in two directions:

1. Which rsh do you get when you can do a rsh panda2 without passwd
   literally do a:
   which rsh
   rsh panda2, what happens
  
2. what failes if you use your own rsh:
/home/profess/bin/rsh panda2
dito:
can you login here without any output on stderror, like "command not found"

i assume by your mail you already had a look at the lam FAQ covering
what test you can do with this problem ? Just do all the tests
described in there ...
