We actually saw this during the release process for 7.0 (on AIX 5.1 only),
but also observed that the behavior was the same with usysv in LAM/MPI
6.5.9 on this platform. Since AIX has given us problems before (e.g.,
doing un-POSIX-like things), we figured it was a[nother] bug in AIX.

To be brutally honest: we hoped that no one would run LAM in such an
environment. :-)

The workaround for the moment is to not use usysv; I'll have a look at
this soon.
