There is no available timetable for a stable version of XMPI. It is a
side project, and with the upcoming release of LAM, our time is a bit
short :). That being said, the XMPI beta should be relatively stable -
most of the issues have been ironed out. We just have not found the time
to go through a formal release process.

There are a number of other debugging tools that work with LAM. MPE from
Argonne National Laboratories has been reported to work with LAM 6.5.x.
The Etnus TotalView debugger works with LAM 7.0 (coming soon). And there
is always the serial GDB method described in the LAM FAQ.
