This is correct, but I wanted to clarify a couple of things. LAM/MPI
requires full connectivity between all nodes in the LAM runtime
environment. That means that the N1, N2, and N3 in your example can only
communicate with each other if the two gateways in the middle are
configured to allow communication between networks. So, in addition to N1
being able to talk to N2, N1 must be able to communicate directly with N3.
There are a number of ways of setting this up, but that is probably beyond
the scope of this mailing list. You would probably be better off finding
a network engineer at your location.
If you have some type of firewalling between the networks, you are also
probably in trouble. It is not enought to be able to rsh/ssh between
nodes. The network also has to be configured to allow communication
between arbitrary high-numbered TCP and UDP ports.
