It is important to note that "rsh <node> <command>" and "rsh <node>" do
not necessarily use the same authentication mechanisms. There are two
things to look into if "rsh <node> <command>" doesn't work. First, is
rshd enabled on the node you are attempting to log into? If not, you will
need to get your sysadmin to set up rshd on your nodes. The second thing
to look at is your .rhosts file - are all the nodes you are logging into
actually listed in yout .rhosts file? If not, you will need to edit your
.rhosts file.

If this is all confusing, it might not be a bad idea to pick up a book on
basic Unix sysadmin stuff.
