As some of you may already know, this past summer, the LAM Team moved from
the University of Notre Dame to Indiana University (IU).

Over the past several months, we have gradually been moving bits and
pieces of the LAM support structure down to IU. Indeed, the CVS
repository for LAM has been at IU for a few months now.

This past Monday, we finally moved the main LAM web site down to IU and
changed all the relevant DNS entires to point to our new web server at
IU's Bloomington campus. IU actually has bigger connections to the
internet than Notre Dame, and our new web server is much more powerful
than our old one, so you'll probably notice better connections to the
LAM/MPI web pages.

This marks the final phase of transitioning LAM/MPI to IU -- we are now
comfortably settled in our new home in the Open Systems Laboratory (OSL),
co-located with the Computer Science Department at IU (mandatory web page
plugs: http://www.osl.iu.edu/ and http://www.cs.indiana.edu/).

Hopefully, this transition process was transparent to you; www.lam-mpi.org
is still the one-stop-shop for All Things LAM.

Even though we have moved to a new institution, our goals for LAM/MPI are
essentially the same. Indeed, we've been here for several months and
delayed announcing it to you until all the pieces had been moved down to
to our new location. Rest assured that LAM/MPI is still under the same
management and will still continue to push the boundaries as a leading
edge, robust, high-performance open source MPI implementation.

Make today a LAM/MPI day!
