The LAM Team from the Open Systems Lab at Indiana University is pleased
to release LAM/MPI version 7.1.

This release introduces both significant new functionality and bug
fixes.

LAM tarballs, RH 9 i586 RPMs, and a Mac OS X package is available from
the LAM/MPI main web site (and will be available on the mirrors
shortly): http://www.lam-mpi.org/.

A summary of the changes is listed below:

- Added new modules:
     - Infiniband RPI module
     - Fixed all known issues with the gm RPI module
     - Shared memory collective module
     - Finished all MagPIe-like algorithms in the smp collective module
     - SLURM boot module
     - Upgraded BProc boot module for BProc v4.0
- Modules can now be loaded at run-time (i.e., are not in the main MPI
library)
- Added better memory manager support for GM and Infiniband environments
- MPI collective operations on intercommunicators are now supported
- Add MPI-2 collectives MPI_EXSCAN and MPI_ALLTOALLW
- Added support for MPI_INTEGER1, MPI_INTEGER2, MPI_INTEGER4,
MPI_REAL4, and MPI_REAL8. And because people asked for it, even though
they aren't in the standard: MPI_INTEGER8 and MPI_REAL16. :-)
- Added "MPI hostmap" functionality for environments with multiple TCP
networks (i.e., a "slow" network and a "fast" network)
- The laminfo command can now show most SSI parameters and their
default values
- Renamed "wipe" command to "lamwipe" per request from the Mandrake
Cooker team. The name "wipe" is now deprecated, and will be removed in
some future release.
